Tournament Report: British Chess Championship 2016

103rd British Chess Championship, Bournemouth, 23 July-6 August 2016

Paul Errington in the Over 65 Under 150 grade tournament scored a credible 2 1/2 out of 5 and was joint 14th. He had a good win in the last round against Michael Read, which was his longest game lasting 3.5hrs.

Dave Burt scored 3 1/2 out of 5 in the Under 120 grade tournament, with the best overall total of the Bournemouth players; showing that in tournaments he’s playing above his grade.

A really good tournament, indeed, hopefully more club players will enter the Dorset Closed later in the year.
