1st Dorset Blitz Championships
Sunday 17th September 2017
Furzebrook Village Hall, Wareham
The first year for the Dorset Blitz Championship. Eleven games were played, with only 10 minutes on the clock per player - nerve racking stuff! There were three sections, split up according to your ECF grade Three of our club members came along to take part. Firstly Mike Duggan (now playing at Poole Chess club) achieved a brilliant joint second place result in the top section. He fully justified his new premiere status. Also in section two, second place, for Tony Lima and Paul Jackson. Paul was particularly pleased, as he played at a standard above his grade. Lastly, I did well scoring a credible 50 percent over eleven matches. Well done to all the organisers who arranged this exciting event. Special thanks to Martin for a really great lunch.
