Four of our Club members attended the 4th Cornwall Spring Congress 2024 chess tournament held in Falmouth Hotel in the beautiful seaside location of Falmouth on the weekend of the Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th May 2024.
Our chairman Paul Errington, Linsay Aris and Thurston Meyer took part in the Five Rounds of the Major section (below 1900 ECF ratings) whilst Azhar Ghose played his first tournament in the Minor section (below 1600).
The tournament was thoroughly enjoyed by all the players and there was an opportunity for the players to retire to the hotel lounge after the match to analyse and discuss their game with their opponents.
Congratulations goes to Linsay Aris for jointly winning first prize of the Major section with the highest wins of four out of five rounds !
